I finally figured out why the things under the sink were getting damp -- there is a gaping hole in the hose connected to the dishwasher. I was fortunate enough to be inspecting this hole, while the dishwasher was running. When the wash cycle switched over, me and the entire kitchen ended up getting sprayed with the equivalent of a dam breaking.Oh the joys of home ownership. So, the plumber comes tomorrow to repair this hole in the hose. Gotta love it.
